uTorrent????????
Q. I have had utorrent downloaded for over a week now and has been working fine. The past 2 days, there has been a yellow triangle at the bottom and says that there is no incoming connections and that there could be a problem with my network configuration. I checked with my internet provider and they detected no problem. I have a windows xp and I have a wireless connection. I am not sure what to do. it is only downloaded like 8.5 kb/sec which isn't normal. It was going much better before. I reset my modem and router but no change. The network configuration seems to be ok. Why is uTorrent doing this? I uninstalled it and the reinstalled it but no change. Can anyone help me out? Thanks

How do you take files in utorrent and put them in your iTunes library?
Q. I recently downloading utorrent and downloaded a couple albums, and I don't know how to take the files in utorrent and put them in iTunes. Before I tried just opening the torrents in iTunes, but apparently iTunes doesn't support torrents, so I downloaded the utorrent for macs.
Asked by Annie - Thu Jun 4 22:41:42 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You first have to export/download the torrents onto your local disk drive. Then, you look for the files where you exported them. Once you find the files in your local disk drive in windows explorer (open up "My Computer"), you can then drag and drop them into your iTunes library.

How to have utorrent finish a torrent download from Bittorrent?
Q. I'm switching over from using Bittorrent to utorrent, but I have a huge unfinished file to download that's halfway through. I don't wanna start it over, so I need to know how I can have utorrent finish it (w/o accidently reseting the download to 0%). So, what do I need to do to have utorrent finish my Bittorrent download?

A. Not entirely sure if you can as each torrent program saves the part files differently.

How do i get utorrent to use more seeds?
Q. Im downloading somthing using utorrent that has 1801 seeds, and im only using 15 of them apparently. I've port fowarded, and used a lot of trackers. Why is it not helping?
Asked by Steven V - Sun Nov 9 18:49:24 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Torrents find seeds that have the part of the file that you need and with the least amount of leechers using them, seeders are outside your control, unfortunately. There are some programs out there that claim to maximize your bandwidth and dedicated them to your download speed. But be aware that doing so will choke your bandwidth from other applications such as normal browsing. Wish you luck. :) Being best answer would be awesome. ;___;

How do I know if uTorrent is finished seeding a certain torrent?
Q. Still new to the whole torrent thing. LOL! Basically, I want to know how long I have to keep a file before it's completely seeded in uTorrent. I've got a bit of a limited disk space thing going on and I wanna know if I have to keep them around forever or if there' s a way to know whether or not they're completely seeded. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but yeah. LOL!
Asked by Brian - Fri Oct 10 02:31:03 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. If you seed back until your "Ratio" column for the torrent in uTorrent is at least 1.000, then you have seeded enough as you have given back what you got.

What the best settings for my utorrent using my current connections?
Q. My download speed is 24Mbps and my upload speed is 370Kbps. I heard that utorrent can crash your router. I have a linksys WRT54Gv6 router with the latest firmware. What's the maximum settings for utorrent that would'nt crash my router? Thanks a whole bunch to all in advance. Please explain in details or list the site as to how you came up with your answer please

A. I use a router with uTorrent and I've had no problems, yours will not crash because it can handle up to 54 Mbs and you have a 24 Mbs connection, so you should be fine with that. Anyway open uTorrent and click options, preferences. Go to the connections tab and for global max download type 3000 and for upload, type 46. Then go to the BitTorrent tab and type 450 for both global max number of connections and maximum number of connected peers per torrent. Those settings will give you optimal speeds based on you internet connection.

How do you listen to music you downloaded on on utorrent?
Q. I alreay download the utorrent thingy you needed to download free music but now I dont know how to listen to it! Can anyone help me?
Asked by shadow_ann13 - Mon Oct 1 20:02:39 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. In the utorrent settings it should tell you where it is saving the music (It likely created a file folder somewhere on your C drive when you installed it) You need to go to that folder to open the music. The other thing is that you can change what folder it saves music to, and you could set it so that it is saving the music to your music folder.

Is defragging a folder with files that are still be downloaded from utorrent bad?
Q. I'm in the middle of downloading a whole bunch of files using utorrent. I was going to defrag my comp in the mean time; when I analyze it, one of the folders where the files I'm downloading are going into comes up. I was planning on seeding the files too. Is it bad to defrag the file? SHould I just wait until it is done downloading?

A. As far as I understand, defragging only affects filles that are inactive. I would however postpone the defragging of that folder just in case, but I wouldn't really be worried about it.

How do I get my Utorrent to download movie files by changing my file association?
Q. I want to download .avi files from torrent sites and stuff but it always comes up in like .stv file and file that you cannot play and I don't mean the file you can extract with winrar. A. utorrent only plays torrent files The stuff/movies inside the torrent (what you downloaded) are opened with othr software. In your case .STV files are created using Sage Studio. Studio is currently in a private beta test phase and not available to the general public. No official release date has been set but if you do a quick search you can find much discussion, debate, rhetoric, and prognostication on the subject. ;) You might need to install the correct codecs on the other computer. try searching google for klite codec packs

How do I get videos from Utorrent onto my computer?
Q. I've downloaded a couple of movies on utorrent and they are completed. I am just wondering how to get them onto my computer? I've even set a directory in the settings to a file in my computer but they don;t go there. I just tried downloading an audio file and it made it to the other file after download but the videos aren't.

A. Bryce... Open uTorrent (the program), right click the 100% downloaded file (any movie or else). From the new window select "Open containing folder...", the program will take you to your downloads folder for it. Once there you can copy and paste the file you want wherever you want. Do not open/play the file here because most likely it's been seeded at the moment, to be able to open it here you have to "Stop" it in the main window of uTorrent. Hope it helps!!

A. I use them all the time. If you double click on them, uTorrent should ask if you want to make .Tor files the basic default program for them, just click yes and you're good. But if you're not getting that, Right click on the Torrent and go to Open With, you'll get a list of programs, if UTorrent isn't on it, click on browse and just add it to the list, voila. Problem solved. But before you do anything always remember, that the Torrent doesn't start EXACTLY when it's opened, it takes it awhile to find Seeders/Leechers, so try to avoid Torrent's that don't have Seeders. (Seeders mean people running the program who have all 100% of it. Leechers are people who have just a portion of it. More seeders = good)
