sharing???
Q. The kids in my class are not very good at sharing with eachother ,especially my girls at home living center during centers time. Does anyone know of a good way to reinforce sharing? What about a picture book or video about sharing? Any ideas would help!! Thanks in advance!

A. Positive reinforcement is what works best. Try to give them a reward for sharing. Of course, tell the children the importance of sharing and that this is what you will be working on for a while. Let them know that you will be watching them and keeping track of how well they do and when you see improvement the children that have had difficulty in this area. Let them know that there will be a reward once you see this improvement over a period of time. The reward can be something as simple as extra outside play time, a movie, treats or anything that would be a little different for their day. Also, let them know that if you don't see improvement or if things go back to the way they were before making changes, that privileges will be… [cont.]

File sharing music lawsuits? How many songs are these people sharing that they get sued?
Q. I read somewhere that like over 30 million Americans file share music. How can the RIAA sue this many people? The people that they are suing, how many songs are they sharing? Is it people who download or specifically share?
Asked by Womb Buster - Sat Sep 8 23:16:39 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The thing is, they know how many people do this, but they don't know who. People get found out when they use computers on a certain network, like college students using their computers on the colleges network get found out if they use file sharing programs, and the college either punishes them, or tells the appropiate people to sue the students. How many songs? Well, that depends on the person. Some people get all their songs by file sharing, others only have a few. But regardless of how many songs they've downloaded, they are still able to be sued. And many thousends of dollors too.

A. UPS is a fortune 500 company. One of the ways it has grown so large is by incorporating employees concern and ideas into its business development. John Casey the founder of UPS made sure that we as a company never lost sight of the employee. That is why we are voted one of the top 10 companies in the world with the regards to employee relations. I know that in my workplace we have an HR team that is constantly trying to balance management concerns with the employees. We also have a top notch open door policy. Anybody can go to their boss with a concern and voice it without fear that they will be judged by it or have it used against them. (stepping off my soapbox...) My guess as to what would be the best way to improve knowledge sharing… [cont.]

What is your opinion on children and sharing at public places?
Q. My friend and I both have children that just turned 2. We were at a public pool and 2 boys there each had a toy dinosaur that they were playing with. Her daughter went up to them watching and wanting to play with them and they kept turning around ignoring her and not playing/ sharing their toys. I felt that it was their toy and I tell that to my son so he doesnt expect to be able to take it or play with it. She snapped a comment about how her daughter has to share and she couldnt believe that these older boys were behaving that way and that the parents who were close by would let them be selfish and not share or would even let them bring a toy to place like this and set up this situation. What do you think about this type of situation?
Asked by fyrechick - Thu Oct 4 16:48:53 2007 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I don't think they are obligated to share the toy. Maybe the other parents were thinking she should teach her child how to respect other people's property. Get the picture? It goes both ways. She was making a big deal out of nothing. She should have simply called her daughter away and told her she was there to swim not play with dinosaurs.

What age should a brother and sister stop sharing a room?
Q. My daughter is 10 and my son is 9. We have a 2 bedroomed house which means that they have to share a bedroom. My daughter is starting to mature and i think that she should have her own space but the council(who we rent our house from) think that its still ok for them to share a room and wont give us a 3 bedroomed house yet. We can't afford to buy a house. What do you think? Do you think they are still ok to be sharing?
Asked by Mhari B - Thu Oct 1 09:42:45 2009 - - 13 Answers - 0 Comments

A. In my opinion, children of opposite genders should typically have their own room the moment they are able to, or show signs of needing privacy. I have seen this happen as early as 5 or 6 years of age. However, the critical point is puberty. Puberty brings many changes which are embarrassing to a young child. In order to help the child cope better, I suggest you discuss implications of puberty and the awkwardness of some of the changes with a empathetic member of the council. If not, a) As a temporary arrangement, have the younger child sleep in your room while you move into the living room or b) See if a part of the house may be partitioned using a chinese screen for the boy and give the girl her own room.

How does home sharing on itunes work?
Q. On itunes how do i get home sharing to download all that music to my other computer? Is it possible?
Asked by lanie - Tue Feb 16 20:54:13 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. iTunes 9: At Home With Home Sharing The Home Sharing feature introduced in iTunes 9 has been a long time coming. Of course, there was always the option of sharing your library on your home network. This allowed you to play streaming music from one computer on others via iTunes. It works well enough for what it is, but Home Sharing does that, and much more. Share More Media First of all, you can share much more than just music between computers. Movies, music videos, and TV shows are all now playable on any machine in your network you authorize via Home Sharing. Authorization is simple, but requires you to have an iTunes account, and to have authorized the computer in question to play media associated with that account. Once that s done, [cont.]

Sharing a room Whats a good Material to use as a wall?
Q. I am going to be sharing a room in an apt. I like my privacy and my friend does to so I am going to get a few 2x4's cut them in half and put door hinges on them so they can stand securely from the floor to the ceiling. This will give me good beams but I need some kind of cheap thick material to create the actual wall with. (it will stretch from beam to beam and would prefer something that looks good) The wall wouldn't cause any damage to the room and would be easy to take down.

Is there anyway can use Home Sharing on iTunes but disable making purchases on the second computer?
Q. My little sister and I share an iTunes account, and all off the media is on my laptop. She would like to have the music on her laptop as well. I am aware of Home Sharing but she is often very irresponsible and will probably make lots of stupid purchases. Is there anyway I can use Home Sharing to allow her to listen to iTunes media on her computer, but not make purchases?
Asked by Anna - Tue Nov 3 07:43:46 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If you deauthorize the other computer, you can't share and she can't play any of your content. There are a couple of ways you can go about this. Home Sharing of course. You would have to be sure that you're account isn't signed on at her computer. But, from I've read here, Home Sharing isn't as simple and effective as Apple makes it out to be. The better option is for her to have her own account on her computer with no access to your user account. Copy the FILES to her computer, then import them to iTunes there. Another plus to this method is that there will now be an additional copy in the event of a crash or whatever. Though, you should still create and keep yet another copy of anything you don't want to lose.

A. I'm a network engineer with over 30 years of experience. Yes. there are multiple things you can do for this. Switches / Routers / DSL Modems. There really is very little distinction between them now, many of them are capable of performing the exact same functions, so when someone says routing table, etc. etc., keep in mind you might be able to do it on any one of them. You could apply QOS for a specific hardware port on your switch, or apply port (channels) filters on all except the one you want to do viewing on. make sure you have a 100 mb connection all the way from your viewing PC to you DSL modem. Including that the switch and ports connecting them are 100 mb also. You can also adjust the MTU settings on your viewing PC, to… [cont.]

A. .Explain how it isn't nice to mess up other peoples things. She might understand if her things get the same treatment as yours do.The tape strategy won't work unless you are there when she is there Too much work to enforce.Maybe you could talk to your parents about setting some rules for you and sister.
