Carsharing is a type of car rental business in which customers rent cars for short periods of time such as one day or less and often pay by the hour. They are attractive to customers who make only occasional use of a vehicle, as well as others who would like occasional access to a vehicle of a different type than they use day-to-day. It is a business organization owned and, ad hoc grouping. Today there are more than one thousand cities in the world where people can carshare.[1]
The term carsharing is also used for carpooling or ride sharing Carpooling , is the shared use of a car by the driver and one or more passengers, usually for commuting. Carpooling arrangements and schemes involve varying degrees of formality and regularity. Formal carpool projects have been around in a structured form since the mid-1970s in some places.
